A number of major and minor updates are available today for our EastWest/Quantum Leap Sibelius integrations. All of the updates are free for registered users.

Hollywood Series Integrations

Version 1.5 of our integrations for the EastWest/Quantum Leap Hollywood series libraries is a major update featuring performance improvements, increased flexibility in patch selection, patch and instrument separation, and significantly better, more predictable, behavior when an articulation/technique requested is not available.

This update introduces technique variations, providing consistent access with a common notation to slightly different performances of the same basic technique. Technique variations simplify the notation required to reach all sounds, greatly reduce reliance on the instrument tables to find the right combination of instructions for a given sound, and eliminate dependencies that require unneeded sounds to be assigned/loaded for others to be accessible.

Updated combined playback configurations are available for users with any two Hollywood series sound sets, and a configuration that combines all three is available on request from Support.

How to Update

Download the v1.5 updates from your user account. All files in the package should be installed; the v1.5 updates install alongside older versions of the sound sets. Because the older versions will remain available, we do not recommend updating scores that use an older version of any Hollywood series sound sets.

New playback configurations must be created using the v1.5 sound sets. Playback configurations created with a previous version of the sound set will not work.

Although not recommended, scores that use a previous version of the Hollywood Series integrations can be updated by importing the v1.5 House Style(s) and re-assigning all instruments/channels in the playback configuration using the v1.5 sound sets.

To save the time and trouble of re-creating your playback configurations manually, we can update them for you. Just send the playback configuration XML file(s) you'd like updated to Support (support AT soundsetproject.com).
